Urban styles
Urban styles represent the diverse ways people can express themselves in modern cities. Understanding and appreciating these different styles is essential, as they reflect the rich nuances of individual identities and social expressions present in urban environments. Let’s get to know some of the characteristics of these styles and learn more about their history?

1. Punk style

This style dates from the 1970s and is characterized by its rebellious and
anti-establishment
attitude. It often features ripped clothing, leather jackets, band T-shirts and DIY modifications. The
style was influenced by punk rock music and the sociopolitical context of that time, reflecting a desire
to challenge mainstream norms and express individuality.
2. Athleisure style

Since the 2020 Pandemic, this style has been catching the attention of fashion-oriented people. It mixes the practicality of athletic wear with the comfort of leisure wear, hence the name, with more elaborate clothing. People who are part of athleisure like to pair leggings, running shoes, sweatpants, shorts, loose shirts and caps with tailored blazers and fancy bags.
3. Skater style

Originating in the 1980s, skate fashion is rooted in the skateboarding subculture. It features comfortable, functional clothing such as baggy jeans, graphic T-shirts, hoodies and skate shoes. This style emphasizes practicality and durability, reflecting the general lifestyle and attitude of skateboarders. It has evolved to include influences from streetwear and casual fashion.
4. Y2K style

Based on the futuristic influences of the 2000s, this retro style incorporates
low-waist bell
jeans, printed
T-shirts, neon colors and sunglasses. The name of the style means "Year Two
Thousand": the y stands for year and the
k is short for kilo, a Greek word for
thousand. Y2K is also highly influenced by what the prominent
celebrities were wearing at the time, during red carpet events or in paparazzi flashes.
