Representing Brazil in the Olympics and the Paralympics Games
The Olympics and the Paralympics Games are sport competitions that symbolize the healthy and harmonious
relationship between countries all around the world. These events, in their modern version, take place every
four years and one city is chosen as the host in a very prestigious ceremony. Let’s get to know some of the
Brazilian athletes that represented Brazil in these Olympic and Paralympic Games?
Beatriz Souza is a Brazilian judoka who was born in 1998. She started her Judo career when she was
just a kid, her father being the one who supported her from the very beginning. She won her first
Olympic gold medal in Paris 2024.

Petrúcio Ferreira is a Brazilian athlete who first competed in the Paralympics Games in 2016, held in
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. On that occasion, he won two silver medals and one gold medal, making him a
strong contestant from the start. Petrúcio suffered an accident when he was only two years old, making
him lose part of his left arm.

Bruna Alexandre is the first Brazilian Paralympic athlete to compete in the Olympic Games. She started
playing table tennis when she was seven. Bruna had her right arm amputated when she was only six
months old due to medical malpractice. During her career, Bruna has won a total of five bronze medals
and one silver medal in the Paralympic games.

Augusto Akio is a Brazilian skateboarder who represented Brazil in the Paris Olympic Games, where he
won a bronze medal. Augusto started skateboarding when he was seven, in Curitiba, the capital of
Paraná state. Besides skateboarding, Augusto is very proficient at juggling.

to represent their country are very proud to be picked as Olympians because they are competing against
